Supporting Consenting Processes for Marine Renewable Energy: International Perspectives

The webinar will include presentations from OES-Environmental, The Crown Estate, and AZTI.

Date: October 02, 2025 at 15:00 GMT

OES-Environmental will provide an overview of ongoing research and coordination efforts on environmental effects of marine renewable energy to support responsible development, including best management practices for risk retirement.

Sarah Wren from The Crown Estate will introduce the recently published data transferability matrix, a UK focused framework developed to provide a systematic approach to discussions on the necessary monitoring required for tidal stream projects.

Juan Bald from AZTI will share insights from the SafeWAVE project, highlighting collaborative efforts in Europe to overcome non-technological barriers to the development of marine renewable energy.
